Brazil has several beautiful parks. George Craig park is named for
Indiana Gov. George Craig, who was from Brazil. |

Brazil's history of brick making is shown here with paving bricks around
the flag pole at Craig Park. The original bricks at the Indianapolis
500
were made in Brazil. We have several old brick streets still in
existence.
Brick Craft, a relatively new brick making factory,
sits
about 10 miles south of Brazil. Our clay soil is ideal for making
bricks. |

The pool at Forest Park keeps people cool all summer long |

The 18 hole Forest Park Golf Course
was designed by Pete Dye and is
considered one of the best in the area. |

There are many shelters in Forest Park, used for picnics and many
other occasions. In December the shelters are all decorated and lit
up at night for people to enjoy, coordinated by
Brazil Christmas in the Park. |

The historic band shell is used by the 150 year old
Brazil Concert Band
every Sunday night during the summer months, attracting thousands of
people. |

These historic cabins were moved to the park, used originally by some of
Clay County's original settlers. |

This historic Pavilion, built in the 1930s, is used regularly for many
events. Prior to the construction of the Clay County Fairgrounds
south of Brazil, this facility was used for animal exhibits. Many
locals affectionately still refer to this facility as the "Cow Palace." |

This beautiful wooden bridge crosses a ravine at the entrance to Forest
Park. |

The Fountain in the background was provided by Brazil's Sister City in
Southern Brasil. The people in front are representing Rotary Clubs
in Brasil, visiting Brazil, IN in April of 2008. |

Forest Park during the 4th of July Celebration put on each year by the
Brazil Rotary Club. Many more photos are available on the club's

The Brazil Concert Choir performs each July 4th in the Band shell at Forest
Park, as part of the Celebration. |

This sign welcomes people to Bowling Green on State Road 46. It was
the original county seat of Clay County. |

Clay City boasts its own High School, Fair, and is the home of one of the
oldest pottery factories in Indiana. Residents refer to their town
as the "Mayberry of the Midwest." |

The Clay County Museum on National Avenue is housed in the old Brazil Post
Office building. |

The Popcorn Festival features a
carnival, entertainment, flea market, food, and an Orville Redenbarger
look-alike contest. Orville was born and raised in Clay County. |
